Job description

We are looking for self-driven, detail-oriented individuals eager to grow in a dynamic environment. If you’re someone who thrives on learning and can adapt quickly, we want you! As part of our team, you’ll play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining cutting-edge systems for data creation, management, and analysis. This is a hands-on role where your contributions will directly impact the success of our projects.

While this position doesn’t focus on data visualization, you’ll dive deep into the heart of data architecture, manipulation, and process optimization. If you’re excited about solving complex problems and working with data in meaningful ways, this is the opportunity for you!

Responsibilities

  • GIS and Mapping Data Management:
    • Gather, process, and update spatial data using GIS tools, particularly QGIS.
    • Work with OpenStreetMap (OSM) data models and large spatial datasets to improve data quality and accuracy.
    • Utilize mapping services such as Google Maps, HERE, and OSM for mapping and research projects.
  • Data Processing and Automation:
    • Develop and maintain automated data pipelines using Python and other tools to process large datasets efficiently.
    • Implement and improve ETL workflows, ensuring clean, structured, and high-quality data for analysis and downstream applications.
    • Apply data cleansing techniques to remove errors and ensure the integrity of incoming data.
  • Web Scraping and Research:
    • Conduct web research to gather information for mapping projects, leveraging web scraping tools such as Selenium to automate data collection processes.
  • Problem Solving and Analysis:
    • Use analytical skills to develop innovative solutions to complex data problems, including spatial data analysis and manipulation.
    • Perform advanced data analysis and manipulation using Pandas and SQL, ensuring efficient and accurate data transformations.
  • Software Development and Testing:
    • Write and maintain Python scripts for data processing, ensuring code quality through unit testing and version control with GIT.
    • Implement manual and automated testing for data pipelines, utilizing tools like Postman and CI/CD frameworks to ensure smooth deployment.
  • Cloud and Big Data Management:
    • Work with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, to manage data storage, processing, and pipeline automation using services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, and EC2.
    • Process and analyze big data using distributed computing tools, ensuring scalability and performance optimization.

Experience and Skills

  • Work experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Education: B.Tech, BCA, B.Sc(Computers and Stats).
  • Must have: Analytical Skills, Problem-Solving, Python, SQL, Excel, Data Processing, Data Cleansing, API Testing, Unit Testing, Big Data, CI/CD, GIT.
  • Good to have: ETL, AWS, QGIS/GIS.

Good to have

  • Experience with productionizing algorithms for real-time systems
  • Deep understanding of Bayesian modeling
